Media Awards Film Review

Click

My favourite movie that was showcased in media awards was named "Click". The genre seemed to be a crime/action film with an element of supernatural abilities. The plot seemed very enticing to me as they seemed to have been involved in some kind of heist, allowing them to acquire alot of money. However, one of the characters seemed to have a supernatural ability to stop time which gave him an advantage over the others. The cinematography was at a high standard as the editing was able to stop characters in time whatever their actions, whether it be climbing a wall, falling backwards or jumping. The aspects of mise-en-scene also added to my interest in the film. In terms of costume, the suits made the characters look a high social class as well as the contrasting it with previous scenes in the urban areas. The shots were mostly outside in natural lighting, meaning the trailer had less hyper realism that we see in most movies. The actors within the film played their roles very well also, making it easier to watch and believe. Poor quality acting can ruin a film, however, within "Click", This was not the case. The setting also played a part in my interest as it was something viewers would be used to seeing.

Who's Bad?

My second favourite film was "Who's Bad". This was a comedy based on a boy in high school who seems to be a socially awkward reject. The screenplay was light hearted and comical, which makes it easy to sit down and watch. Within the movie, we see the protagonist develop and get closer to his goal of getting girls, making viewers want to see how far he goes to accomplish this. The characters within the movie can be related to the viewers as there are many different personalities that can be found in high schools. The camera quality wasn't very good, however the high quality comedy within the screenplay made me overlook this. The costumes were very much laid back and typical of the time period and the area of where it was filmed, making the movie relate able making it easier to watch. The acting was also good, but this was mainly because of the genre and the general screenplay made it easier for the actors to produce. The setting was in a high school which was familiar to viewers, which would entice consumers.

Voice Of The Void

Finally, the last movie is "Voice of The Void". This was a crime/action film. Similarly to "Click", the movie seemed to be involve some kind of heist where they acquire a high amount of money. An element of betrayal is involved within the movie as we see one on the characters seems to shoot one of the allies involved in the heist. This makes the movie very edge of the seat as the viewers don't know who may flip on other characters. The plot within the film seems to revolve around the sense of betrayal as alot of the build up is the characters plotting the heist. Then we see a conversation between to other characters who may be plotting on the others to take get even more money for themselves through killing their companions.
