I considered how to use each location and how to use props to create different meanings for the audienece. My statement of intent is currently too long and needs to be broken down. The film I am going to create is fitting of The target audience as there are themes within the film that the audience may be able to identify with. Research Kidulthood- Narrative and Genre Within the trailer of Kidulthood, the producers convey the urban coming of age drama through the select scenes cut together in the montage . We see the young teenagers smoking, partying and drinking. You also see scenes where the main characters are causing mischief. An example is when he throws his burger back at the waitress, the girl stealing alcohol from the shop and the other boy throws bottles at the shop keeper. They then show the antagonist seemingly bullying the protagonist , teasing him about his supposed girlfriend. They also convey the coming of age drama within the trailer as they cover obstacles in young life such as pregnancy. The girl is seen standing in the mirror rubbing her stomach and her facial expressions show her reaction to it. The boys reaction is also caught when she tells him over the phone showing the contrasting way both sides react to such news. The jump cuts and swipe transitions also make the trailer seen
