Click My favourite movie that was showcased in media awards was named "Click". The genre seemed to be a crime/action film with an element of supernatural abilities. The plot seemed very enticing to me as they seemed to have been involved in some kind of heist, allowing them to acquire alot of money. However, one of the characters seemed to have a supernatural ability to stop time which gave him an advantage over the others. The cinematography was at a high standard as the editing was able to stop characters in time whatever their actions, whether it be climbing a wall, falling backwards or jumping. The aspects of mise-en-scene also added to my interest in the film. In terms of costume, the suits made the characters look a high social class as well as the contrasting it with previous scenes in the urban areas. Research:Film noir The definition of film noir is  a style or genre of cinematographic film marked by a mood of pessimism, fatalism, and menace. The term was originally applied (by a group of French critics) to American thriller or detective films made in the period 1944–54 and to the work of directors such as Orson Welles, Fritz Lang, and Billy Wilder. In terms of lighting film noir is when the producer creates shadows and lots of dramatic effects to try to scare the audience and add a lot of suspense to the movie. Also, the effects are used to set the scene in the film. Also film noir created dark shadows and effects which symbolised and reflected the mood and atmosphere of the film which was tense, mysterious and dark. The first film poster is a sci-fi film where it seems that mankind will be in a conflict with aliens. The two people on the front of the cover seem to be the protagonists and they may have a love interest. This film is a sci-fi film with a sub genre of romance as suggested from the male and female on the front cover of the poster. The target audience for this film would be males that are 16+ it seems that this film would contain a lot of violence. We can infer this as the poster shows a man holding a gun with a defensive, startled expression on his face. This is probably be a horror movie as we can infer from the name of the film. However, some element of comedy may be installed within the movie and I can tell this as the facial expressions on the characters are quite comical and not something associated with a horror film. Funny Games What is the director saying about the family from the music played? Rock music is a very aggressive style of music and it is associated with being rebellious. This may imply that the family is involved in some kind of underground crime world and the way they seem on first look isnt the actual case. At first they look like a normal family going on a trip and the initial classical music made it look this way, however the rock music makes it seem much more darker. However, it could also implement the film to be a comedy as the the music is contrapuntal to the scene and doesnt match. How would you describe the use of the music? I would describe it to be quite random as at the start, calming classical was played which fit the scene and the actions of the characters. The use of Top Lighting here is to create a glamorous look for the woman. Her face is the focus of attention as everything else is engulfed in darkness. This is an example of low key lighting. The use of a key light here helps us see the entire picture clearly, and the use of a top lighting from a filler helps us see the lines on his faces such as the cheek bones, and gives the shadow under his eyes to connote a more sinister demeanour. This is an example of high key lighting.
