Star persona Feedback

Self Assessment:

3) Now reflect on your own work. How did your star persona mood board planning help clarify and develop your ideas?
The makeup used within my video matched the inspiration in the mood board. We see that the undead mermaid has decomposing flesh and lots of gory features as well as beautiful makeup.
4) Thinking technically, how could you improve your work for future videos? (E.g. filming, editing, sound etc.
In future videos, I will try to create less negative space and have the 'star' as the focus of attention and be in more line of the shot. The background of the shot also seemed quite unprofessional as the room was messy and you could see posters in the background.
The lighting also made it quite difficult to see the 'star' clearly, so the makeup couldn't be properly appreciated.
5) Thinking in terms of mise-en-scene, what were the aspects of CLAMPS you used effectively in your video?
Costume: In terms of costume, the make up was used effectively, as it was done at a high quality, matching the inspiration of the 'zombie-themed' mermaid
Lighting: The lighting could have been a bit better as the back lighting made it difficult to see the star
Actor: The star in the video was used well to display the make up, however the eating in some parts disrupted the professionalism of the video
MakeUp: The make up was good and very believeable, transforming the star into another character
Setting: The setting could have been made to look more professional as the room was messy in the background
6) What aspect of mise-en-scene (CLAMPS) could you have improved or done differently?
Lighting: The lighting could have been a bit better as the back lighting made it difficult to see the star
Setting: The setting could have been made to look more professional as the room was messy in the background

Riki: WWW: The music choice matches the pace of the video, the make-up looks realistic and matches the genre it was intended. The video clearly displays the transformation There is no negative space and the student is the main focus of the video.
EBI: Parts of the video where the make up isnt being applied could be cut and edited to make the application look more seamless. At the end, the recorder zoomed in and zoomed back out again, it would have been better to stay with the close up.

Saira: WWW: The video ran smoothly with good transitions, the speed of the lapse matched the music also, The 'star' was also in a good shot focusing the attention on the transformation. The makeup was also of high quality
EBI: If the camera didnt pan back out the video would look much more professional.

Shania: WWW: The video ran smoothly with a good quality camera. She made sure there was no negative space and kept the 'star' the centre of attention.
EBI: If she cut certain parts of video where work isnt being done. This would make the video shorter and straighter to the point. Also have a final pan of the final product.
